"In life, sometimes everything falls into place, and sometimes everything just falls to pieces. The key is to begin creating with these fallen pieces. By improvising, you'll create something magical that might be the best thing you've ever accomplished."
So in true Sarah fashion, I chose to spend the day shopping in Palm Springs to celebrate my 25th birthday! First destination on the agenda? Why of course, Trina Turk! I fell in love with the interior (mostly because the prominent use of yellow, my favorite color), designed by the renowned Kelly Wearstler.
Here is my latest crafting venture...learning the art of embroidery. I can't wait to see if I'm any good at it and this is the book I have chosen to lead the way! Hoping to post progress pictures soon!
I constantly desire to learn new things—about design, the world or myself. I believe passion is key when it comes to doing what you love. I happen to love, love design and fashion, amongst an array of other things, but those two are at the top of my list. I am not afraid of color—to use, wear, design or decorate with. I receive too many magazines, but I adore scouring through each and every page. I try to find inspiration all around me—the world is full of it. I collect vintage hankies, scarves, hats and photographs and in my spare time, I am learning how to sew, knit and how to master the lost art of embroidery—basically trying to become a domestic goddess. The world truly fascinates me and I live by the quote, “Keep calm and carry on.”
